Arbitrator Charlene MacMillan brings more than three decades of experience and leadership in the field of labor relations to her work as an arbitrator. As a labor relations professional in the private and public sectors, she has held the roles of strategic advisor, advocate, chief negotiator and program manager. This experience has equipped Arbitrator MacMillan with valuable insight into the realities of collective bargaining.
Due to her extensive background in the field, and her commitment to continuous learning, Arbitrator MacMillan is skilled in interpretation, negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements. She is trained and certified in arbitration, contract, labor & employment law, and mediation.
She also performs academic peer review in matters of domestic and international labor-management relations, human resources, and dispute resolution.
Arbitrator MacMillan applies her deep understanding of the dynamics of labor relations and collective bargaining when deciding matters brought to arbitration, and has earned the trust of both unions and employers for her integrity, fairness, competence, and professionalism.
She is an active member of the National Academy of Arbitrators (NAA), the preeminent organization of labor and employment arbitrators in the United States and Canada, and serves on a number of national, regional and permanent panels. She also accepts direct appointments from parties.
Arbitrator MacMillan continues to develop and deliver training for management and labor advocates alongside her arbitration practice.
